Mattias Hedrén serves as the Head of Delivery, Performance and Strategy at Qantas since September 2025. Prior to this, Mattias held various leadership roles at SAS - Scandinavian Airlines from August 2018 to September 2025, including CEO/AM SAS Link, Acting CEO/AM SAS Link, and Vice President of Common Functions. In these roles, responsibilities included overseeing the Operational Control Center as well as multiple operational functions. Previous experience includes serving as Vice President Operations/COO and Senior Advisor at Nextjet from December 2012 to May 2018, where the Accountable Manager role was held, ensuring adherence to flight safety and operational quality. Mattias also has a background as Director of Flight Operations and in human resources at Nextjet, along with pilot experience at Novair and teaching experience at the Scandinavian Aviation Academy. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Air Transport Management from City St George’s, University of London, and a commercial pilot degree.
