Raffy Tan Jr. began their career in 2009 as a Certified Lab Technician and Eyecare Advisor at Lenscrafters. In 2012, they became an Operations Technician Intern at the City of Daly City, and then a Technical Support Engineer at Hawk Ridge Systems. In 2013, they were a Manufacturing Engineering Technician at Illumina, and then a Powertrain - Product Excellence Technician II at Tesla Motors. In 2014, they were a Manufacturing Engineer at Codman Neurovascular a Johnson & Johnson Company. In 2015, they were a Manufacturing Engineer III and Manufacturing/Process Development Engineer II at Vention Medical. In 2017, they were a Manufacturing Engineer III at Shape Memory Medical Inc. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Mechanical Design Engineer III and then a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Ichor Systems, Inc.

Raffy Tan Jr. attended Chabot College from 2008 to 2010, where they earned an A.S. Engineering in the field of Engineering. Raffy then went on to San Francisco State University from 2010 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering. In February 2013, they obtained the CSWA certification from SolidWorks.
