Lakshman Gupta

Lakshman Gupta is the current COO at Qapita. Prior to this, they were the CEO at MAGICA PTE. LTD. from August 2017 to September 2019. During their time at MAGICA PTE. LTD., Lakshman incubated a digital content startup focused on creating multi-platform content in niche genres of Kids & Lifestyle. Lakshman built branding and a network of partners, generating interest and seed funding. Lakshman produced 2 series of content, with a total of 110 pieces of short-form content. Lakshman also launched MagicaKidsTV on YouTube and executed a JV with WebTVAsia, the largest digital content company in South East Asia for scaling up and distribution across Asia.

From October 2006 to February 2017, Lakshman was the Head of Corporate Finance/Head of Business Affairs and Business Development at Astro. During their time at Astro, they were responsible for the strategic planning and corporate development of the company. Lakshman also participated in the privatization of the listed company in 2010, and oversaw the debt funding for both the group and investee companies. In addition, Lakshman led the execution and management of 30+ strategic investments across India, SE Asia, China, Australia, the US, and the UK.

Lakshman Gupta has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Indian School of Business, with a concentration in Analytical Finance and Leadership & Change Management. Lakshman is also a Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and a Cost & Management Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
