Henk Jan Hoogendoorn has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Henk Jan began their career as a Graduate Trainee at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in 1989 and worked as a Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking before becoming a Branch Manager and Head of SME Banking at the same company. In 1996, they took on the role of Head of Global Clients Team/Senior Relationship Manager.
Hoogendoorn joined Alawwal Bank in 2000, where they served as Division Manager of Corporate Banking and later as Head of Corporate Products. In 2004, they moved to ABN AMRO Bank N.V. as the Head of Strategy and Business Planning for GTS Global Transaction Services. Henk Jan also worked as the Director of Corporate Clients and was part of the Management Team in the Commercial Banking Unit.
In 2007, Hoogendoorn joined New HBU, a 100% subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank, as an Executive Director of Corporate Clients. Henk Jan then joined Deutsche Bank in 2010, where they held the positions of Managing Director - Head of Non-Bank Financial Institutions and Managing Director - Head of Mid Cap Amsterdam. During their time at Deutsche Bank, they were responsible for building a new team for the NBFI business and leading the Mid Cap Unit in Amsterdam.
Hoogendoorn worked at Hoogendoorn Advisory & Interim Management in 2017, where they served as a Transformation Banker and Strategic Advisor to the Financial Sector. Henk Jan then moved to Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority in 2018, initially as the Managing Director of the Financial Sector and later as the Chief of Financial Services Sector.
Throughout their career, Hoogendoorn has demonstrated strong leadership skills, project management expertise, and a focus on driving transformation and growth.
Henk Jan Hoogendoorn completed their education with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Civil Law from Utrecht University in the years 1982-1989. In 2007, they attended London Business School to complete the ADP 63 program. Later, in 2011, Henk Jan Hoogendoorn pursued a program in Strategic Management in Banking at INSEAD. In 2020, they obtained a Cambridge Certificate of Completion in Fintech & Regulatory innovation from Cambridge Judge Business School. Additionally, in 2022, they completed the Private Markets Investment Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, earning a Certificate of Completion. In 2023, they also completed the Digital Assets for Regulators Program at Cambridge Judge Business School. Prior to their higher education, Henk Jan Hoogendoorn attended Christelijk Lyceum Zeist and achieved the Staatsexamen VWO certificate. Henk Jan further obtained the certification "How to Boost Your Productivity with AI Tools" from LinkedIn in 2023.
