Alain Balian, CFA, has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alain began their career in 2000 at the National Bank of Canada, where they served as a Senior Associate in Structured Investments Solutions until 2006. Following this, they joined Esso - Exxon Mobil as a Business Manager from 2006 to 2008. Afterward, Alain joined Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) in 2008 as an Executive Manager in Syndications, Cross Border Financing, and Financial Institutions in Wholesale Banking. Alain later assumed the role of Head of Oil, Gas & Cross Border in Wholesale Banking at QIB in 2013, a position they currently hold. Throughout their career, Alain Balian has demonstrated expertise in various areas of finance, including structured investments, syndications, and cross-border financing.

Alain Balian, CFA has a diverse educational background in the field of finance. Alain completed their MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School between 2009 and 2012, specializing in finance. Prior to that, they obtained their CFA Charterholder designation from the CFA Institute, graduating in 2004. Alain holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from HEC Montréal, which they completed from 1998 to 2000, again specializing in finance. Alain also pursued a period of study in "Gestion" at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik - USEK from 1995 to 1997. Their educational journey began with a focus on the experimental sciences at College Mariste Champville, where they completed their Terminal degree between 1981 and 1995.
