Director Of Museography And Heritage Museums Development at Qatar Museums Authority

Bouthayna M Baltaji has a strong background in exhibition and interpretative planning, with experience in various prestigious institutions. Bouthayna M is currently serving as the Head of Exhibitions and Heritage Exhibits Section in the Curatorial Affairs Department at Qatar Museums, where they develop dynamic and engaging temporary and virtual exhibitions. Previously, they held the position of Head of Exhibitions Section at Qatar Museums, overseeing the development of a series of temporary exhibitions based on innovative research and scholarship.

Before joining Qatar Museums, Baltaji worked at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) as part of the Interpretative Planning team. In this role, they developed exhibit design documents, managed content and digital assets, and conducted research on audience development and visitor experience approaches.

Bouthayna M also gained experience in interpretative planning at Northwestern University in Qatar, where they designed an interpretive plan for the gallery's first exhibition. In addition, they worked on the Interpreting Heritage Project at UCL, organizing two exhibitions and developing concepts, narratives, interpretive plans, and object lists.

Baltaji has further enhanced their skills through internships at The Walters Art Museum and New York University Abu Dhabi, where they were involved in various curatorial and research tasks.

Bouthayna M Baltaji pursued their education with a bachelor's degree in Social Research & Public Policy/Visual Arts from New York University Abu Dhabi. Bouthayna M studied at the university from 2010 to 2014. Later, in 2014, they enrolled at UCL to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Museum and Gallery Practice, which they completed in 2015.
