David A. Taylor

Deputy Director - Project / Operations at Qatar Museums Authority

David A. Taylor has a diverse range of work experience in various roles within the cultural heritage field. David'smost recent position was as the Deputy Director - Project/Operations at Qatar Museums, where they served from April 2018 to present. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Exhibitions QCM at the same company from March 2011 to March 2018.

Before joining Qatar Museums, David worked as a Cultural Heritage Specialist at DA Taylor Design from March 2009 to March 2011. In this role, they provided professional advice and development strategies to cultural entities such as private collections, universities, museums, and veteran associations.

David also worked as a Web Developer at the Highland Light Infantry Association from August 2010 to November 2010, where they developed a web presence for the regimental veterans association. Additionally, David served as the Lead Project Advisor at the Noor Ali Rashid Collection from January 2010 to July 2010, managing the digitization and cataloguing program for the official Royal Photographer of the UAE.

David's experience also includes working as an Exhibition Consultant at Zayed University from October 2009 to December 2009, where they prepared strategic plans and design layouts for permanent exhibitions commemorating the life of Sheikh Zayed. David gained valuable experience working closely with senior Emirati decision-makers during this time.

In previous roles, David worked as a Project Officer at the Lions Rampant Project, a Content Developer for the 602 Squadron Museum Association, a Scottish Emigration Museum Project Development Manager at Museums Galleries Scotland, Head of Web Content Development at Just One Hotel Ltd, and a Collections Development Assistant at the Royal Highland Fusiliers Museum.

Throughout their career, David has showcased their skills in project management, web development, exhibition design, cultural heritage consulting, and digitization.

David A. Taylor's education history begins in 1999 when they enrolled at the University of Glasgow. David completed their undergraduate degree in History in 2003. During this time, in the academic year 2001-2002, they participated in an exchange program as a student at Boston College, where they studied History, Foreign Policy, and Music. Additionally, they also attended Harvard University as an exchange student during the same period, focusing on Ethics.

In 2003, David pursued further education at the University of Glasgow, where they obtained a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree in Decorative Art and Design History in 2004.

Apart from their formal education, David A. Taylor also obtained a certification in Interpersonal Communication: Strategies for Executives. David completed this certificate program at the MIT Sloan School of Management in March 2021.
