Berik Mekebayev

Berik Mekebayev is an experienced professional in taxation and finance, currently serving as Head of Global Taxation at QNB Group since June 2019. With expertise in a wide range of direct and indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions, Berik has played a key role in tax audit appeals, international taxation based on OECD principles, and the implementation of tax technology solutions. Prior to QNB Group, Berik worked at OQ, Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production, as Shareholder Advisor and Overseas Assets Controller, where responsibilities included financial advisory for joint ventures, compliance, and M&A support. Previous experience also includes a tenure at Deloitte as a Senior Manager in Financial Advisory and positions at EY as an Auditor. Berik holds a double MBA and MA from KIMEP University, a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Satbayev University, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the State Medical Academy.
