Makram Barhoumi

Makram Barhoumi is a seasoned compliance and risk management professional currently serving as the Head of Compliance and Internal Control at QNB Group since January 2015. In addition, Makram leads the Domestic Compliance Strategy and Supervision for the group and is a founding member of the MENA Financial Crime Compliance Group (FCCG) for the EU Chapter since November 2021, focused on enhancing financial crime literacy among Arab banks in Europe. Previous experience includes roles as a Senior Investigator at the Autorité des marchés financiers in France and various risk management positions at Newedge and Natixis. Makram holds multiple degrees, including an MSc in International Finance from HEC Paris and is pursuing an Executive MBA with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence, expected in 2025. Further educational endeavors include certifications in Health and Fitness and Data Science.
