Mahmoud Elmasry

Mahmoud Elmasry has over two decades of work experience in the field of software quality assurance and testing. Mahmoud currently holds the position of Lead Software QA Engineer and Scrum Master at Qawafel | قوافل, where they have been working since May 2022. Prior to this, Mahmoud was a Senior Software QA Engineer at the same company starting from May 2021.

From 2013 to 2020, Mahmoud worked at Bartizan Lead Retrieval as a Senior Software Quality Engineer - Web and Mobile/Test Analyst. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing project test plans, analyzing architecture and product requirements for testing strategies, and evaluating and improving testing roles and responsibilities within the product development life-cycle.

Prior to that, they worked at Andalusia Healthcare Business Solutions as a Software QA/Testing Team Lead from March 2012 to June 2013. In 2011, Mahmoud co-founded itqaan for information technology and served as a Co-founder/Owner. During this time, they adopted new open-source technologies, designed and architected web/mobile applications, and customized E-Commerce web applications.

From 2004 to 2012, Mahmoud worked as a Freelance Translator, providing translation services on a freelance basis.

Between 2010 and 2011, they worked at Mengate as a Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager. In this role, they adopted new open-source technologies and business applications, performed user acceptance testing, and customized the Adempiere ERP solution.

Mahmoud's career began at Top Systems in 2006, where they held multiple roles. Mahmoud started as an ERP Business Analyst/Software Tester, interacting with customers, designers, and coders to meet software requirements. Mahmoud later became an ERP Implementor, creating physical network infrastructure for customers and assessing their business processes. Additionally, they served as a Technical Writer, creating technical offline help documents and demo videos for ERP solutions.

In 2004, Mahmoud worked as a Maintenance Engineer at MH Group.

Mahmoud Elmasry obtained their high school degree from Zahran Language Schools in 2008. Mahmoud then went on to attend Alexandria University from 2003 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Commerce with a major in accounting from the English Department.

In 2009, Mahmoud attended The American University in Cairo and obtained a CISA certification in Information Systems Auditing. Following that, from 2010 to 2014, they pursued a Master's degree in Information Technology at the Institute of Graduated Studies and Researches (IGSR).

In addition to their formal education, Mahmoud has obtained several certifications. In 2016, they completed the "Test Automation using Selenium" course from Udemy. In 2017, they achieved the ISTQB CTFL (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) certification as well as the Certified Agile Tester (AT) certification from ISTQB. In 2019, they obtained the Selenium WebDriver with Java certification from the Test Automation University. Most recently, in 2021, Mahmoud obtained the ISTQB Mobile Application Testing Specialist (MAT) certification from ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
