Carmen Desilva

Carmen DeSilva is an experienced professional in the reinsurance industry, currently serving as the VP Specialty Underwriter at QBE Re since January 2024. Prior to this role, Carmen accumulated over a decade of experience at AXIS Capital, holding various positions including Strategic Management Coordinator and Head of Property Runoff, Senior Business and Portfolio Manager, and Vice President of Underwriting, specializing in underwriting and pricing Global Reinsurance Property Cat programs as well as US, UK, Canadian, and Caribbean Property Cat Reinsurance programs. Carmen also worked as an AVP Underwriting at Platinum Underwriters Bermuda, focusing on International Property Cat and Specialty. Carmen began the career at KPMG Bermuda as an Audit Senior and later transitioned to roles in finance and accounting at Platinum Underwriters Holdings and ACE Tempest Re. Carmen holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Dalhousie University.
