Thomas Barton

Manager, Field Operations - New York/Vermont at QE Solar

Thomas Barton has a diverse background in the solar and electrical industry. Thomas started their career as an Electrician at Demco New York Corp in May 2018, where they were responsible for the installation and maintenance of electric systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Thomas also gained experience in installing and commissioning commercial photovoltaic systems, as well as low voltage and communications systems. In June 2020, Thomas joined QE Solar as a Solar Technician, where they worked until September 2022. In this role, they contributed to the field operations and maintenance of solar projects. Thomas then advanced to the position of Solar Operations Lead in September 2022, where they supervised field operations statewide and collaborated with office personnel to promote efficiency and growth in the region. Currently, Thomas Barton holds the position of Manager, Field Operations - New York/Vermont at QE Solar, starting in May 2023.

From 2013 to 2015, Thomas Barton attended BOCES, Adirondack Educational Center, where they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Building Trades.

From 2015 to 2017, Thomas Barton enrolled at SUNY Canton and earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Construction Technology Management.

In 2017, Thomas Barton continued their education at SUNY Canton and completed a Graduate Certificate in Electrical Construction and Maintenance in 2018.

Additionally, Thomas Barton has obtained several certifications. In 2014, they received a 10-hour Construction Safety and Health certification from ClickSafety. In 2020, they obtained certifications in OSHA 1926 Subpart M - Construction Fall Protection from Compliance Training Online®, NFPA 70E from Electrical Diagnostic Surveys, and Lockout/Tagout - Control of Hazardous Energy from Compliance Training Online®.
