Kurt Reisser

Chief Geoscientist at QEP Resources

Kurt Reisser has significant experience in the oil and gas industry, with over 40 years of work experience. Kurt began their career as a Geologist at Exxon in 1976 and then joined Getty Oil as a Senior Geologist in 1979. After that, they worked at Sun Exploration and Production as a Geologic Manager from 1981 to 1986. Kurt then joined Oryx Energy Company as an International New Ventures employee from 1986 to 1999. Kurt Reisser then worked at Kerr-McGee Oil and Gas as an Exploration Manager from 1999 to 2006. Following that, they worked at Anadarko Petroleum as a Senior Geological Advisor from 2006 to 2007. Kurt later joined Questar Exploration and Production as a Staff Geologist from 2007 to 2010. Kurt also held various roles at QEP Resources, including Chief Geoscientist, Chief Geoscientist Advisor, and Staff Geologist, from 2006 to 2016. Kurt Reisser retired in 2016 as an Oil and Gas Geologist.

Kurt Reisser pursued their education in geology, starting with their Bachelor's degree at the University of Colorado Boulder from 1971 to 1974. Kurt then went on to earn a Master's degree in Geology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 1974 to 1976. Additionally, during the same timeframe, they also obtained another Master's degree in Geology from the University of Nebraska.
