Markus Sprenger-Haussels

Markus Sprenger-Haussels has extensive experience in molecular diagnostics and sample technology, currently serving as Vice President and Head of Sample Technology Product Development at QIAGEN since January 1999, where responsibilities include strategic management of multiple projects and leading a center of excellence for sample collection, stabilization, and extraction. Previous roles at QIAGEN include Senior Director positions in both Sample Technology Development Life Sciences and MDx Development, focusing on the development of automated nucleic acid isolation and detection systems. Earlier experience encompasses R&D roles related to molecular diagnostics and sample preparation, as well as a post-doctoral position at the Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology. Markus Sprenger-Haussels holds a PhD in Genetics and Biochemistry from the Max-Planck-Institute for Plant Breeding Research and additional diplomas in Biochemistry and Biology from the University of Cologne.
