Vimukthi Senevirathne

Vimukthi Senevirathne, Ph.D., PMP, is an accomplished Senior Scientist in Molecular Assay Development at QIAGEN since May 2022, focusing on innovative solutions for Molecular Diagnostic Assays to detect human pathogens. Prior to this, Vimukthi served as Research Leader of Molecular R&D at Neogen Corporation, where leadership of cross-functional teams and expertise in assay design and optimization were key in enhancing the product portfolio. Earlier roles included Senior Research Scientist and Scientist in Molecular Microbiology R&D, showcasing a strong background in developing assays for foodborne pathogens and generating intellectual property. Vimukthi's academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Wayne State University and a BSc from the University of Colombo, complemented by significant teaching and research experience.
