Andrew Arkell

Head Of State Client Relationships at QIC

Andrew Arkell has extensive work experience spanning several decades. Andrew began their career at Ernst & Young in 1983, where they worked as a Supervisor until 1988. Following this, they joined Charts Partners as a Manager from 1988 to 1991. Andrew then transitioned to the Australian Securities & Investments Commission, where they served as an Assistant Director of Corporate Regulation from 1991 to 1994. Arkell then joined QIC, a company where they worked for many years, holding various roles. From 1994 to 2008, they served as the Corporate Secretary/Company Secretary and the Head of Corporate & Advisory Services. In 2009, they became the Head of Business Development for Global Real Estate, and subsequently held the position of General Manager Client Services, Global Real Estate from 2012 to 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as the Director of Client & Consultant Relationships, and later served as the Director of Business Development - Queensland from 2015 to 2018. Most recently, Arkell has been the Head of State Client Relationships at QIC since September 2018.

Andrew Arkell completed their education in a chronological order, starting with their graduation from Brisbane Grammar School between 1975 and 1979. Andrew then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) with a focus on Accounting at James Cook University from 1980 to 1982. Following this, Andrew Arkell enrolled at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, where they completed a Professional Year from 1984 to 1986. In 1989, they obtained a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University. Additionally, Andrew Arkell completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment at the Securities Institute of Australia, where they studied from 1991 to 1994. Lastly, in 1998, they attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors for the Company Directors Course.
