David Spiez has a diverse and extensive work experience in the finance industry. David is currently a founding member at QIC, where they are responsible for developing and executing the strategy for establishing the company's new Private Debt business. David has launched a global high yield infrastructure debt platform and is focused on establishing an Australian Multi-Sector debt fund. Additionally, they are preparing to develop a strategy for a future real estate debt capability.

Prior to their role at QIC, David worked at Standard Chartered Bank for nearly a decade as a Managing Director. In this role, they were responsible for originating and executing strategic real estate and hospitality transactions across EMEA and footprint markets. David underwrote debt financing transactions, executed M&A and advisory transactions, and raised capital for assets, portfolios, and platforms.

Before joining Standard Chartered Bank, David worked at Citi as a Vice President in Equity Research, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa region. Prior to that, they held various Vice President roles at JP Morgan, including in Real Estate Finance & NPL Principal Investment and the Securitised Product Group.

David Spiez holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Economics degree, also from The University of Queensland. Additionally, David Spiez is a CFA Charterholder, having obtained the CFA designation from the CFA Institute.
