Shea Carter

Shea Carter currently serves as Portfolio Manager - Business Development at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute since July 2023. Prior experience includes nearly nine years at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR), where roles spanned from Principal Scientist - Laboratory Head and Project Team Lead to Investigator III and II, focusing on in vitro biology and leading multidisciplinary drug discovery teams. Additional experience includes an internship at Novartis Venture Fund, reviewing early-stage investment proposals, and postdoctoral research at KU Leuven and Queensland University of Technology. Shea Carter holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Queensland University of Technology, along with Bachelor's degrees in Biotechnology and Cell and Molecular Biology.
