Buck Elton

Buck Elton currently serves as the Executive Vice President and General Manager for Defense Modernization at QinetiQ US, a position held since November 2022, and previously held the role of Senior Vice President for Defense/Military Operations. Prior to QinetiQ, Buck Elton was with Avantus Federal as Senior Vice President - Defense and as a Strategic Advisor. Significant military leadership experience includes serving as Director of Operations for the United States Special Operations Command, where responsibility included overseeing a staff of 1,260 personnel, and as Commanding General of the Special Operations Joint Task Force Afghanistan, managing over 5,000 U.S. troops. Additional roles include Deputy Director for Special Operations and Counter Terrorism on The Joint Staff and Deputy Commanding General for Joint Special Operations Command, overseeing critical operations and a substantial budget. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Management from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master's degree in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
