Sergi Porta

Sergi Porta has a diverse work experience in various roles within different companies. In 2014, they started as an intern at ITnow! In 2015, they worked as a Software Engineer at Giesecke & Devrient Spain, where they focused on building software for SIM cards. In 2016, they co-founded Qualla and worked as a Software Engineer, developing a mobile app for school pick-up authorization. The project received recognition and won the first prize at UPC Startups competition. In 2017, Sergi joined HP as a Technical Product Owner, leading the execution of the software product roadmap for large format printers and effectively managing conflicts of interest among stakeholders. In 2020, they became the Engineering Lead at Lupa, joining as the first engineer and leading the development of the initial MVP. Sergi successfully managed a team of 5 engineers and played a significant role in securing a seed round for the platform. Currently, Sergi is working as a Senior Backend Engineer at QMENTA starting in 2023.

Sergi Porta has a strong education background in the field of Telecommunications Engineering. Sergi completed their Bachelor of Engineering from UPC - ETSETB TelecomBCN in 2010 and pursued a Master's Degree from the same institution, which they completed in 2017. In 2014, Sergi also had an opportunity to study at Dublin City University, where they focused on their Bachelor's degree thesis. Additionally, Sergi holds a Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) from the University of Cambridge.
