Rutger Thomschutz has over 15 years of experience in the technology industry. Rutger began their career in 2004 as a Developer at the Terascale Computing Facility at Virginia Tech. In 2005, they took on the role of Research Assistant for U.S. Customs Services, Homeland Security. That same year, they began working at Windward Consulting as a Senior Consultant and Architect. In 2016, Thomschutz joined Qmulos as Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Marketing, where they led a partner team and a marketing team. Rutger also held the roles of Director of Strategic Alliances and Director of Technical Engagements, where they were responsible for product deployments. Lastly, they served as Principal Security Architect, providing technical professional services for Splunk and Enterprise Security deployments.

Rutger Thomschutz has a long history of education and certifications. Rutger obtained a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2001 and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2005. In 2015, they completed the Splunk Field Readiness Training and became a Splunk Consultant. Rutger also obtained certifications from Splunk, Qmulos, Pearson VUE, CompTIA, and more. In total, they have 21 certifications, with the most recent being the Splunk Core Certified Consultant in December 2020.
