Hannah Pye, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Quadram Institute since September 2017, focusing on the use of bacteriophage treatment in synergy with constructed wetland technology to combat antibiotic resistance in surface waters of low- and middle-income countries. Pye's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology from the University of East Anglia, where the research investigated the molecular basis for variation in physiological resistance of Salmonella during minimal heating of chilled plant protein foods, and a Master's by Research in Microbiology from the same institution. Prior experience includes work as a Research Scientist analyzing molecular variation in non-proteolytic Clostridium botulinum strains found in vegetarian food products, contributing to expertise in food microbiology. Pye holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Bioveterinary Science from the University of Lincoln.
