Chris Miles

Software Engineer at Quadric

Chris Miles has worked in a variety of roles since 2010. Chris began their career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Continental in 2010, followed by a Physical Systems Engineering Intern at On-Ramp Wireless, Inc. in 2011. Chris then worked as a Math and Science Tutor at Tutoring Club in 2012. In the same year, they began working as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Michigan, where they studied optimal control of fluid mixing and acoustic droplet vaporization modeling for drug-delivery. In 2016, they became a Research Fellow at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where they built numerical computation software to model the collective motion of many swimming bacteria in a continuum model. From 2019 to 2021, they held roles as a Data Scientist at Big Data Federation, Inc., a Data Science Fellow at Metis, and a Software Engineer at quadric.io.

Chris Miles has a comprehensive educational background. Chris obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2006 and 2010. Chris then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics at the University of Michigan, which they completed between 2012 and 2015. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from the University of Michigan in 2018. Additionally, Chris Miles has obtained four certifications from Udacity and Coursera in 2018, including a Deep Reinforcement Learning Nanodegree, a Neural Networks and Deep Learning certification, an Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization certification, and a Structuring Machine Learning Projects certification.
