Andrew Laurens

Andrew Laurens has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Andrew currently holds the position of Commercial Director at Quaker Houghton since March 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as a Technical Manager at the same company from February 2017 to April 2023, where they gained extensive knowledge in Metalworking, Dust Suppressants, and offshore products.

Before joining Quaker Houghton, Laurens worked at ArcelorMittal Vanderbijlpark as a Production Manager from September 2011 to January 2017. Their responsibilities in this role included overseeing production processes.

Laurens also has a long history with ArcelorMittal, where they held various positions. From September 2007 to September 2011, they worked as a Technologist in the Technology Department, focusing on surface quality of cold rolled strip automotive pipeline. Prior to this, they served as a Manager in the Metallurgical Services department, where they were responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Laurens began their career at ArcelorMittal in 1989 as a Technician in the Main Laboratory, gaining experience in water analysis, inductive coupled plasma spectrometry, and the steel-making process. Andrew later held the roles of Senior Chemist and Manager/Technologist Special Projects, where they collaborated closely with production units, suppliers, and customers to improve products and resolve customer complaints.

Andrew Laurens attended Vaal University of Technology from 1988 to 2002 where they obtained a NHD degree in Analytical Chemistry.
