Leonard Achan RN, MA, ANP

Leonard Achan RN, MA, ANP has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Leonard currently serves as the President and CEO of LiveOnNY, a non-profit Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) that serves the New York City Metro area and neighboring counties. In this role, they lead a team of healthcare professionals and oversees the organization's efforts to honor individuals' wishes for organ and tissue donation.

Prior to their current position, Achan co-founded Quality Reviews, Inc., a digital health company focused on improving patient experience in healthcare facilities. Leonard served as Co-founder and Chairman, leading the development of proprietary platforms that leverage mobile and web-based technology.

Achan also held various leadership positions at the Hospital for Special Surgery. As President of the Innovation Institute, they were responsible for innovation, commercialization, technology transfer, and business development. Leonard also served as the Chief Innovation Officer and Senior Vice President of Innovation and Business Development, founding the Innovation Institute and driving strategic partnerships and new business development.

Before their time at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Achan worked at the Mount Sinai Health System. Leonard held roles such as Chief of Access Services and Senior Vice President, Chief Communications Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Vice President of Digital and Social Media, Vice President of Executive Services, and Assistant Dean of Executive Services and International Business Development. In these positions, they established and managed various departments and initiatives related to patient access, marketing, communications, and digital strategy.

In addition to their work in healthcare organizations, Achan also served as the Senior Associate Dean of Global Communications, Branding, and Reputation at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Here, they were responsible for strategic communications, branding, and reputation management.

Leonard earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Adelphi University, where they became a Registered Professional Nurse in 1999. Leonard later obtained their Master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing- Nurse Practitioner from New York University in 2002. During this time, they also completed a certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from New York University.

To further enhance their skills and knowledge, Leonard pursued additional education at The Wharton School, where they became an alumni and Fellow of the Wharton School of Business from 2003 to 2005. Leonard also completed a Post Masters program in Nursing Administration at Villanova University in 2003. Additionally, Leonard pursued a Post Masters program in Education at Rutgers University, although the specific duration of this program is unknown.
