Hector E. Baez Fernandez

Hector E. Baez Fernandez is an experienced engineer with a strong background in electrical and industrial engineering. Currently serving as Lead Test Engineer at Qualus Power Services, Hector specializes in commissioning and maintaining substations, working on projects for GTC, GPC, and MEAG. Previously, Hector held the position of Electrical Engineer at Southern Nuclear Operating Co, focusing on process improvement and engineering applications. Additionally, Hector has experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, providing support in courses related to statistics and robotics. Early career experiences include internships at Argonne National Laboratory, the National Security Agency, and the Illinois Institute of Technology, where Hector enhanced skills in power systems and hybrid vehicle technologies. Hector holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
