Duncan Gowland is an Advanced Research Scientist at Quantinuum since March 2022, focusing on the development and application of quantum computational methods for materials science simulations. Prior to this role, Duncan completed a PhD at King's College London from 2016 to 2021, with a thesis on nuclear dynamic effects in core-level spectroscopies using time-dependent density-functional theory. Experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a postgraduate course on biological systems and a Visiting Graduate Researcher at the University of California, Merced, where research concentrated on new methods for modeling fluorescence. Duncan holds an MSc in Non-Equilibrium Systems and an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Hull.
