William Stone

UX Designer, Service Designer at Quantium

William Stone has a diverse work experience in various roles. William is currently working at Quantium as a UX Designer and Service Designer, where they introduced design tokens and semantic structures to improve system efficiency and usability in the Quantium design system. William also worked on service design blueprints for the NSW Government to improve the department of education's data service offerings and a multi-departmental data pipeline. Additionally, they assisted with the discovery process of an AI-driven internal promotional tool at Woolworths.

Prior to their current role, William was a UX Instructional Associate at General Assembly, where they taught UX design to adult learners and aided them in learning and practicing core skills for 5 projects. William also completed the UX Design Immersive program at General Assembly.

William has also worked as a UX Design Consultant at Pory.io, where they conducted research to improve the user experience and market viability of the startup. William led a team to prioritize improvements in onboarding, retention, and user engagement.

In their earlier career, William worked as a Campaign & Partnership Executive at Stockland, where they delivered media campaigns and maintained relationships with clients. William also held multiple roles at Coles, including Store & Department Relief Manager, Store-man, and Duty Manager. At Australia Post, they worked as a Service Designer and conducted research that contributed to a national marketing campaign. Additionally, they worked as a Design Consultant at Transdev, where they developed fire escape plans, floor plan layouts, and edited training videos. William also worked briefly as a Design Consultant at Big Dog Creative.

William Stone attended General Assembly from 2020 to 2021, where they studied User Experience Design Immersive. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) from Swinburne University of Technology, where they studied from 2013 to 2018 with a major in Industrial Design. Before their university education, they completed their Victorian Certificate Of Education at Brighton Grammar School in 2011.

Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including a UX Designer certification from General Assembly in March 2021, a Marine Licence (Masters of personal watercraft) (PWC) from Transport Safety Victoria in January 2021, and a Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification from St John Ambulance in March 2019. William also obtained their Bachelor of Design degree from Swinburne University of Technology in July 2018 and their Victorian Certificate of Education from the Victorian curriculum in November 2011.
