Research Development Team Lead at Quantum Brilliance

Mariam Akhtar has a strong background in quantum research and development. Mariam is currently working as a Research Development Team Lead at Quantum Brilliance since May 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sussex from October 2020 to May 2022, where they conducted research in the field of Quantum Physics. Simultaneously, they worked as a Quantum Consultant at Universal Quantum from October 2020 to May 2022, providing expertise in quantum technologies. Earlier in their career, they worked at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) as a Higher Research Scientist from March 2018 to July 2019, where they focused on improving the performance of ion microtraps. Mariam also worked as a Researcher PHD Student at NPL from September 2014 to March 2018, contributing to the advancement of the field through their research endeavors.

Mariam Akhtar obtained their Bachelor's degree in Physics and Philosophy with a Year Abroad from King's College London, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Experimental Quantum Physics at the University of Strathclyde from 2014 to 2019.
