Thomas Carella

Thomas “TJ” Carella joined Warburg Pincus in 2016. Based in New York, he serves as a managing director and heads the Healthcare Group. He is a board director of Aetion, Alignment Healthcare, Polyplus-transfection, Quantum Health, SOC Telemed, Summit Health, Vertice Pharma, and WebPT. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, TJ was a partner in the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs and the global head of the division’s private equity activities in the healthcare sector. While at Goldman Sachs, he led or was actively involved in, several investments across life sciences, healthcare services, and healthcare information technology. TJ earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and then obtained his MBA from Harvard Business School.
