Ramon Szmuk

Product Manager | Quantum Physicist at Quantum Machines

Ramon Szmuk has a wealth of experience in the fields of physics, product management, and research and development. Ramon has worked at Quantum Machines since 2020 as a Product Manager and Quantum Physicist. From 2015 to 2020, they were an R&D Physicist at Muquans, where they were the lead scientist in the development team of an ultra high precision atomic clock. Theirduties included designing and characterizing microwave/RF systems, analog/digital circuits, and optical systems, as well as analyzing data for system design, optimization, and troubleshooting. Ramon was also responsible for communicating with potential clients in academia and the defense industry, and presenting talks in academia and industry to increase awareness of the company's innovative technology and products. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Ph.D student in Experimental Atomic Physics at LNE-SYRTE, Observatoire de Paris, where they worked on compact quantum sensors using magnetically trapped Rubidium 87 atoms. From 2007 to 2011, they were a Laboratory Assistant in Dan Shachar's low temperature lab at the Weizmann Institute, where they performed transport measurements on amorphous superconductors and designed various HV and UHV devices. Finally, from 2001 to 2007, they worked as an Analyst and Product Manager for unit 8200 in the IDF.

Ramon Szmuk received their B.Sc. in Physics from The Open University of Israel between 1998 and 2005. Ramon then went on to pursue their Ms.c in Atomic Physics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev from 2008 to 2011. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Experimental Atomic Physics at Pierre and Marie Curie University between 2011 and 2015. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Stanford University on Coursera.
