Jordan Occena is a materials science expert with extensive experience in engineering and research. Currently serving as a Principal Member of Technical Staff at QuantumScape since June 2022, Jordan previously contributed as a Senior Engineer at Exponent, focusing on failure analysis, advanced materials characterization, and product development for consumer electronics and medical devices. With a solid academic foundation, including a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Michigan, obtained in 2018, Jordan's research has explored the epitaxial growth of III-V semiconductor alloys and their applications in solar cells and laser diodes. Prior experiences include significant internships at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Stanford University, as well as teaching roles at the University of Michigan.
