Matthew Genovese is an experienced materials scientist with a strong background in energy storage technologies. Currently serving as a Principal Member of the Technical Staff at QuantumScape since July 2019, Matthew previously held the position of Senior Member of Technical Staff. Prior experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Dalhousie University, where work focused on enhancing the performance of Lithium Ion batteries. Matthew's academic journey includes earning a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Toronto, with research on surface modified carbon materials for supercapacitors. Additional research experience includes visiting roles at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as various internships related to solar energy and chemical processes.
