Troy Kumar has a strong background in equipment engineering and maintenance. Troy started their career at Tesla in 2017 as an Equipment Maintenance Technician, where they worked on troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and quality issues. Troy had expertise in PLC, robotic, power electronic, conveyance, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and maintenance. At QuantumScape, they worked as an Equipment Engineer (Manufacturing Engineering), responsible for driving the design, development, and commissioning of high-speed automated solid-state battery cell manufacturing equipment. Troy also tested and validated new designs and equipment, led installation and maintenance planning, and maintained up-to-date records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.
Troy Kumar completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine, having attended from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that, they attended Bangor High School from 2009 to 2013.
