Ander Monro

Deputy Head of School, Educational Programs at Queen Margaret's School

Ander Monro is the current Deputy Head of School, Educational Programs at Queen Margaret's School. Prior to this, Ander was with Rugby Canada from October 2014 to April 2016 as the Canada U18 Assistant Coach. Ander was responsible for the backs, attacking shape and defensive system. From September 2012 to July 2020, Ander was a House Director at Shawnigan Lake School where they were responsible for the safety, wellness and personal development of 57 grade 8-12 boys. Ander has also held positions as a Senior Intern at Shawnigan Lake School from September 2011 to July 2012 and as a Sporting Intern at St. Michaels University School from March 2010 to June 2011. Prior to their work in education, Ander had a career as a professional rugby player with Colorno Rugby Club from October 2007 to May 2009 and as an international rugby player with Rugby Canada from June 2006 to October 2011.

Ander Monro attended The University of Victoria, where they studied for a BEd. They then went on to study Geography at The University of Edinburgh, before completing their studies at Glenalmond College.

They are on a team with Ann Buttner-Danyliw - Manager, Equestrian Operations, Bruce McPherson - Facilities Manager, and Abigail Thornton-Stalker - Director of Human Resources. Their manager is David Robertson, Head of School. Some direct reports include Alison O'Marra-Armstrong - Director of Academics, Susan Cruikshank - Junior School Principal, and Stacy Paton - ECE Program Manager.
