Maryanne Olson has a diverse work experience in library management, education, theater, and program coordination. Maryanne has worked at the Queens Library since 2015, starting as a Children's Librarian and progressing to Assistant Community Library Manager and Community Library Manager at different branches. Maryanne has been responsible for organizing various programs and collections, including those focused on promoting diversity and inclusion. Prior to joining the Queens Library, Maryanne worked as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Maryland University College and held positions at Brick Theater, Open Society Foundations, Bishop O'Dowd High School, Corte Madera School, Playwrights Foundation, Koret Foundation, Castro Valley Public Library, and Marin Theatre Company. Maryanne'sroles in these organizations involved literary management, program coordination, and internships in library and theater settings.

Maryanne Olson completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Theater at Dickinson College from 1998 to 2002. Maryanne then pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dramaturgy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2003 to 2006. Following that, they obtained a Master of Library and Information Science degree from San Jose State University between 2008 and 2010. In 2015, they received the NY Public Librarian Certification from The State of New York.
