Sara Rakita

Sara Rakita is an experienced leader in the non-profit sector, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Queens Community House since February 2020. Prior to this role, Sara held multiple positions at The New York Immigration Coalition, including Executive Vice President and Managing Director from December 2014 to February 2020. Additional prior experience includes serving as Associate Director at NYU School of Law’s Public Interest Law Center from 2006 to 2014, consulting for Ford Foundation / TrustAfrica from 2002 to 2006, and working as a researcher at Human Rights Watch from 1998 to 2004. Sara began their career as a Program Consultant at Eurasia Foundation in the early 1990s. Academic credentials include a JD in Human Rights from New York University School of Law, and a Master of International Affairs in Human Rights from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
