Trent Scherer

Trent Scherer serves as the General Manager at Queensland Alumina Limited since March 2016, with previous roles including Acting General Manager, Manager of Redside, and Manager of Tailings & Environment. Responsibilities encompass oversight of Environment and Process Safety systems and the operation of Tailings Storage Facilities, while managing a diverse team of employees and contractors. Prior experience includes acting as Manager for the Gladstone Project Hub at Rio Tinto, managing a portfolio of projects exceeding $65M, and holding various positions such as Area Leader at Red Earth Engineering and Project Manager at Douglas Partners. Trent Scherer holds a Master of Engineering Science in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology from UNSW, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Science from the University of the Sunshine Coast, and is currently pursuing an MBA at UNSW.
