Melissa Somerville

Melissa Somerville is an experienced professional with a diverse background in project management, business improvement, and policy analysis. Currently serving as Principal Project Officer in the Queensland Government since March 2008, Melissa has successfully led initiatives such as the Care Army during the COVID-19 pandemic, managing volunteer coordination and fostering community resilience. Prior to this role, Melissa contributed to the Digital Enterprise Capability Office and engaged in industry projects related to Queensland's mineral and energy resources. Melissa's previous experience includes content marketing for Merry-Ishi Mindful Fashion and serving as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan. Melissa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a focus on International Business and Marketing from Queensland University of Technology and has pursued various professional development courses in public policy, social media strategy, and marketing.
