David Hanham has extensive work experience in the field of rugby union administration. David started their career as the Brisbane Development Officer at Easts Rugby Union in 2000 and then served in various roles in game development and management at the Queensland Rugby Union (Queensland Reds). David held positions such as Brisbane Development Manager, State Education Manager, and General Manager of Game Development before becoming the Deputy CEO, Chief Operating Officer, and eventually the CEO of the organization. In their roles, they were responsible for strategic planning, financial management, and overseeing various departments such as high performance, community investment, property development, and sponsorship. David achieved significant accomplishments during their tenure, including leading successful business transitions, delivering strategic plans, achieving record net operating profits, and securing government investments and approvals for infrastructure projects. David also played a key role in acquiring broadcasting rights and securing Ballymore as the venue for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

David Hanham completed their education at the Regional Training Group in 2009, obtaining a Diploma of Business. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained several certifications from the Australian Rugby Union Ltd. in 2011, including Level 3 Coach, Match Official Assessor, and Qualified Coach.
