Afrah Albadri has a diverse work experience in the field of advanced therapy medicinal products and gene therapy. Afrah started their career at the NHS in the Hospital Aseptic Unit from August 2014 to July 2015. Afrah then joined UCL and Moorfields Eye Hospital Cells for Sight Stem Cells Therapy Research Facility, where they worked as a GMP Research Scientist and later as the Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products: Seconded Production Manager. Their responsibilities included aseptic tissue processing, manufacture of master cell banks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies such as MHRA and HTA. Afrah also led the technical transfer, validation, and manufacturing of limbal epithelium stromal cell banks for a clinical trial.
Afrah then worked at TCR² Therapeutics Inc., where they served as a Manufacturing Scientist II. Their duties involved ensuring quality management system conformity, leading risk assessments for processes, maintaining the GMP facility, and providing technical expertise to colleagues. Afrah also performed engineering runs for T-cell manufacture of autologous cell products for cancer treatment.

Afrah Albadri has pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biomedical Sciences at Westminster University. Following this, Afrah has also completed a Masters of Science (MSc) program specializing in Cancer Therapeutics at Barts Cancer Institute.
