Ulrike Harjes has extensive experience in editorial roles within the field of medicine and cancer research. Currently serving as Locum Deputy Editor and Senior Editor at Nature Medicine and Senior Editor at Nature Reviews Cancer since July 2017, Ulrike has previously held positions as Associate Editor at Nature Reviews Cancer and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Vesalius Research Center, VIB, KU Leuven from July 2015 to June 2017. Ulrike's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medical Oncology from the University of Oxford, complemented by a Master's degree in Oncology and Cancer Biology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Medicine from The University of Göttingen. Research contributions include studies on FABP4 in tumor angiogenesis and Dll4-Notch signaling in endothelial cell metabolism.
