Sina Hamedi is a Battery Engineer at Quino Energy since January 2023, with prior experience as a Research Intern at Bosch USA, focusing on electrical testing and modeling of lithium-ion batteries, and as a Research and Development Intern at EnPower, Inc., specializing in the modeling and parameterization of lithium-ion batteries. Sina is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering at Brigham Young University, having previously obtained a master’s degree in Energy Management and Systems Technology from Sharif University of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.

Quino Energy
Quino Energy is scaling up an aqueous flow battery that uses specially designed reactants called quinones that are dissolved in water. They are made from low-cost coal tar and wood tar, and are more cost-effective than competing battery technologies at longer storage durations of 5-12 hours. Quino Energy has licensed the quinone flow battery technology from Harvard University, where it was first developed.
