Jelmer Renema

Chief Technology Officer at QuiX Quantum

Jelmer Renema has a diverse work experience, starting in 2005 as the Chairman of Stichting Rino, where they led the Leiden physics outreach initiative and built it into one of the largest of its kind in Europe. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a PhD Student at Niels Bohr Institute. Jelmer then moved on to work at Leiden University, first as a PhD Student from 2011 to 2015, and later as a Postdoc from 2015 to 2015. In 2015, they joined the University of Oxford as a Rubicon Fellow, leading a part of UQO's integrated photonics effort. In 2016, they became a Junior Research Fellow at The Queen's College, Oxford, where they remained until 2018. Since 2018, they have been an Assistant Professor at Universiteit Twente. In 2019, they also took on the roles of Chief Technology Officer and Chief Scientist at QuiX Quantum, where they currently work.

Jelmer Renema has a strong educational background in physics. From 2011 to 2015, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physics at Leiden University. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2009, they completed their MSc Cum Laude degree in Physics from the same university. Their educational journey began at Groene Hart Lyceum, where they obtained their high school diploma (VWO) from 1997 to 2003. Although the field of study for their high school diploma is not specified.
