Kai Walberg's work experience includes positions at various companies and educational institutions. They started working as a Software Engineering Intern at Rockwell Collins in 2016, where they built and maintained an automated continuous integration build/testing framework. They also developed a web portal to monitor the continuous integration status and communicated with engineering teams to determine user requirements for the tool suite. In 2018, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Intern at the Information Sciences Institute, where they researched novel methods for binary analysis and presented their findings at a research conference. They also wrote a whitepaper on their research. In 2019, Kai worked as a Cyber Security Analyst Intern at Johnson Brothers Liquor Co, where they responded to and resolved security alerts, developed a security dashboard, and managed the deployment of Multi-Factor Authentication. From 2018 to 2019, they held the position of Preceptor (Theory of Computation) at Macalester College, where they held office hours and assisted with grading student assignments. From 2020 to 2022, Kai worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Penn State University, where they developed software in emerging research areas, implemented framework updates, and configured continuous integration processes. Currently, Kai is working as a Research and Development Engineer at Quokka.io.
Kai Walberg completed their high school education at Mount Vernon High School from 2013 to 2016, earning a High School Diploma. Following this, they pursued further education at Macalester College from 2016 to 2019. At Macalester College, Kai Walberg obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Music. Additionally, in November 2019, Kai Walberg obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA.
