Nissim Benvenisty

Nissim Benvenisty is the Herbert Cohn Chair in Cancer Research and the Director of The Azrieli Center for Stem Cells and Genetic Research at the Hebrew University. His research has focused on stem cell biology, tissue engineering, human genetics, and cancer research. He has a long history publishing on human pluripotent stem cells, and serves on the editorial board of a variety of stem cell-related peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the steering committee of the International Stem Cell Initiative (ISCI), the Board of Directors of the International Society of Differentiation (ISD), and serves as academic advisor for the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR). Nissim is a world-renowned expert on the use of human embryonic stem cells and has testified before the United States Senate and the European Union. He has received a number of prestigious awards including the Foulkes Prize (London), the Hestrin Prize, the Teva Prize, the Kaye Prize and the Milken Prize and the Asian Cellular Therapy Organization (ACTO) Award.
