Gustavo Vargas León

Gustavo Vargas León has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Gustavo started their career at Grupo Asesor en Informática as a Software Developer and Technical Consultant, where they worked on custom-made desktop applications for various industries. Gustavo also served as a teacher for technical courses.

After this, Gustavo worked at Sysde: Soluciones Especializadas para la Industria Financiera as a Software Developer and Technical Team Lead. Gustavo led the technical area of the customer service department, supervised the team, and provided guidance to the manager. Gustavo also worked on financial desktop applications as a full-cycle developer and technical consultant.

Next, they joined Koperniko Solutions as a Software Developer, where they designed and developed web applications, mostly as complements to ERP systems.

At Sysde once again, Gustavo worked as a Software Architect, building financial SOA web/desktop applications to help customers manage their financial operations.

Later, they worked as a Solutions Architect at Quenti Technologies, where they designed the backend architecture for a cloud-based, SaaS financial product for the micro-finance industry. Gustavo also monitored and guided the building process, made strategic technical decisions, and documented the architecture.

Currently, Gustavo is working at 66degrees as a Senior DevOps Engineer Lead. In this role, they help clients improve automation in their Azure environments, application building and deployment through CI/CD pipelines, and application monitoring. Gustavo has contributed to making their software development life cycle more agile and cost-effective.

Gustavo Vargas León obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Tecnológico de Costa Rica between 1996 and 2000. Gustavo also holds various certifications, including Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Associate Cloud Engineer, and Professional Cloud Developer from Google Cloud Platform Certified. Additionally, they have a Microsoft certification, specifically Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, obtained in 2019.
