Justin Waring

Justin Waring serves as Dean and Professor at Loughborough University School of Social Sciences and Humanities since October 2024. Waring has held multiple prestigious positions, including Fellow at the Academy of Social Sciences and The RSA since 2019 and previously served as Professor of Medical Sociology at the Health Services Management Centre until October 2024. Additional notable roles include Visiting Professor at the University of Gothenburg and Director of Research at THIS Institute from August 2022 to September 2023, leading the THIS Fellowship on the POPS perioperative pathway. Waring has also contributed significantly to research and leadership in various capacities within the NIHR Greater Manchester Patient Safety Translational Research Centre and Nottingham University Business School. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Sociology & Social Policy from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Health Policy & Management from the University of Birmingham, and a BA(Hons) in Sociology & Social Policy from the University of Liverpool.
