Kriston Barnes

Kriston Barnes has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. They began their career in 2006 as a Supply Chain Management Intern at Northrop Grumman. They then worked as a Financial Advisor Intern at Virginia Asset Group from 2007 to 2008. In 2008, they joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Graduate Research Intern until 2010. During their time at the National Park Service, they held several roles including Habitat Restoration Lead Intern from 2010 to 2010, GIS Specialist/Land Management from 2010 to 2016, Data Integration Specialist from 2018 to 2022, and Community Stewardship Program Lead from 2016 to the present. Additionally, they served as the Public Relations Chair and a Board Member at Code4TheCulture starting in 2021. Currently, Kriston works in Data Strategy at Aspira.

Kriston Barnes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Commerce from Hampden-Sydney College, which was obtained from 2004 to 2008. From 2010 to 2012, Kriston pursued a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science and Policy from The Johns Hopkins University. Following this, from 2019 to 2020, they attended Boston College, where they obtained a degree in Applied Economics - Data Analytics. Currently, Kriston is enrolled in Northeastern University and is expected to graduate in 2023 with a Master's degree in Computer Science.
