Eric Oertel

Eric Oertel has extensive experience in safety, security, and law enforcement. Currently serving as the Director of Safety and Security for Racine Unified School District since September 2015, Eric also works off-duty as a resource officer. Prior to this role, Eric was a police officer with Mt. Pleasant Police Department from August 2014 to February 2023, performing duties as a patrolman. Additionally, Eric served as the Worship Director at Hope City Church from January 2018 to January 2022, where responsibilities included leading a team of volunteer musicians and organizing worship services. Eric holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Washington State University, obtained in 2014.
